Appalachian Trail

It’s easy to boast you’ve hiked on the famous Appalachian Trail while visiting Front Royal. One hundred miles of the trail passes through the Shenandoah National Park, exiting the park four miles east of Front Royal on Rt. 522 in Chester Gap.
